Originally from France, Emilien started playing tennis at the age of 6. He was selected to join the Tennis Academy of Nantes (France) and develop as a player there from ages 11-18. He then played all junior national tournaments, as well as some international junior tournaments and future tournaments (lowest level of ATP tournaments). He went to school at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR and played #1 singles and #1 doubles. With his help, they reached final 4 of NCAA Division II Men’s National Championship in 2005. Emilien was a three-time All-Gulf South Conference and Academic All-GSC selection (2004-2006), and was awarded the Johnny Heflin Outstanding Men’s Tennis Athlete Award (2005). His highest national ranking has been #48 in singles and #3 in doubles.
